

		Campaign Information MCSS Statement Sample Letter Petition

We Need Your Help!

Ten Ontario provincial disability organizations have recently sent a statement to the Minister of Community and Social Services. The attached statement urges MCSS to allocate monies for people with developmental disabilities in a way that expands individualized support and funding.

WE ARE URGING YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN A LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN TO THE MINISTER, JOHN BEARD, cc TO THE DEPUTY MINISTER JOHN FLEMING, AND YOUR LOCAL MPP SUPPORTING THE STATEMENT. A SAMPLE IS AVAILABLE IN MS WORD FORMAT. PLEASE ADD YOUR OWN IDEAS AS WELL. PLEASE ENCOURAGE ALL PEOPLE CONNECTED WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION TO WRITE A LETTER.

WE ARE ALSO URGING YOU TO GET PEOPLE TO SIGN A PETITION IN SUPPORT OF THE STATEMENT, DURING DECEMBER AND JANUARY. PETITION SHEETS ARE AVAILABLE HERE.

THE TIME IS NOW! What we do today will affect the direction of the budget for the next five years. This will impact the quality of life of our loved one.

Make copies of petition and ask everyone to support it-fax to (416) 244-6543
Arrange a meeting with your local MPP and tell them you and/or local group have an urgent need to meet them. Everyone must deliver the same message. Ask your MPP to make a commitment to support you.

Thank you letter to your MPP and continue to stay in touch.
